Sonata I in F: Allegro
| Composer:
Arne, Thomas |
Price: $1.00 |

Notes:
The keyboard music of Thomas Arne was originally published by Walsh of London in 1756. In the England of Arne’s day the early 18th century style of suites of dance movements was over. The music borrows freely from the Italian composers resident and influential in the city; Geminiani, Bononcini and others. There is a strong feeling of typical English melody writing and ornamentation; and of Scarlatti. This is particularly evident in the second of the two movements, which evokes the hunt.
